All ages welcome on Zoom.
Preregistration required.
Fat Moon Farm will cover everything from the lifecycle of mushrooms to the latest research on nutrition and the environmental benefits of mushrooms. Mycophiles will leave the class with a deeper appreciation of culinary mushrooms and curious about the myriad of health and environmental benefits that were known by our ancestors and are being rediscovered by modern researchers.
In preparation for this workshop, we set-up mushroom growing kits at the library on Saturday, February 12. Stop by in the following days to check on the progress and give the mushrooms a spritz of water. If there are some ready for harvest, program participants may take 1 or 2 mushrooms. Once there are plenty of mushrooms to harvest, likely during the week of February 21, we will invite interested participants back to help with the harvest and take mushrooms home to enjoy!
If you’d like help harvest, let us know when you’re registering for the Zoom session. All attendees will be required to wear a mask that fully covers their nose and mouth and to show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 (at least 2 weeks have passed since receiving the single-dose vaccine or the second dose of a two-dose vaccine). Space is limited. You will receive confirmation via email.
