Ongoing Programs

We hold a weekly Storytime on Saturdays at 10:30. On the first Tuesday of the month, at 1:30pm, our Book Club meets in the library. A few members sometimes meet separately virtually. Our Cookbook Club meets on the second Monday of the month at the library. We also host a monthly Movie Night for Adults and Game Night.

Our events are funded by grants from the Becket Cultural Council, Washington Cultural Council, Berkshire Bank, Fairfield County’s Community Foundation, The Feigenbaum Foundation, and Mass Humanities, a state-based affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, which receives support from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Funding is also provided by the following grants from Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation: ARTS Build Community: Innovation Initiative, ARTS Incubation Grant, and the Central Berkshire Fund.

β€œAt the last minute my son and I saw that the Becket Library was offering a creative craft night with fabric artist Crispina Ffrench. I could not have been more pleased. The little library was full of delighted community members, busily stitching together their masterpiece, all prepared and cut out by our guide Crispina, but nonetheless giving us a sense of creative accomplishment.  Heading home with permission to create our own works of art in the days ahead, out of buttons and scraps of delightful fabric we all have tucked away in drawers that need opening and minds that need a creative challenge.  We need to gather, create and laugh together and the Becket Library continues to amaze me.  My hat is off to the skillful programing and the powerful artists they engage to share their expertise with our small but hearty community.”
