David Giannini

David Giannini

David Giannini’s recent books are Already Long Ago and The Dawn of Nothing Important (each published by Dos Madres Press). He was twice nominated for The National Book Award and Pulitzer Prize. He received a 2021 Finalist Award from The North American Poetry Review. His work appears in national and international magazines and anthologies.

Gary Metras was appointed the inaugural Poet Laureate of the City of Easthampton, Massachusetts in 2018. His essays, reviews, and chiefly poems have appeared in hundreds of journals since the 1970s, including America, American Angler, Boston Review of Books, The Common, Connecticut Poetry Review, Gray’s Sporting Journal, Poetry, Poetry East, Poetry Salzburg Review, and Yankee Magazine. Marble Dust is his ninth book of poetry, along with thirteen chapbooks. He has been awarded a Massachusetts Fellowship in Poetry, a Must Read Poetry Title (2009, 2019, 2021) by the MA Center for the Book, won the Split Oak Press Chapbook Award 2010, with several nominations for the Pushcart Prize. He has taught high school English and college writing. A master letterpress printer, he ran Adastra Press for forty years, publishing hand-crafted, limited editions of poetry.
