Join us for this Reading and Poetry Workshop with José B. González. He will read from his book, Toys Made of Rock, about his journey from El Salvador to Connecticut and will share advice on writing poetry and sharing stories.
Following the workshop, materials will be available for attendees to craft their own journals.

José B. González has been featured in Univision, NPR, and CBS News Radio, and an excerpt of his poetry is part of the first ever Latino exhibit at the National Museum of American History in DC. He was born in El Salvador and came to the U.S. at the age of eight. He once knew no English and now is a professor of English with a PhD in English. He is the author of the poetry collections, Toys Made of Rock and When Love Was Reels and the co-editor of Latino Boom: An Anthology of US Latino Literature. He has been anthologized in the Norton Introduction to Literature and has presented extensively throughout the US including at Harvard and Yale. A Fulbright Scholar, he is the founder and editor of LatinoStories.com.
